Testimonials

"Before finding Saybrook Reading, I was overwhelmed and honestly heartbroken. I felt lost in a world of school acronyms, testing scores, meetings, and language I didn’t understand. I was trying to advocate for my son, but I didn’t even know what questions to ask. It was exhausting and, at times, hopeless.

Then Saybrook Reading stepped in.

They didn’t just tutor my son. They swooped in as true advocates and partners. They took the time to educate me, guide me, and help me understand what was actually going on. When they identified his dyslexia, it was a turning point. What I once feared was an “issue” suddenly became something entirely different. They helped me see it not as a limitation, but as a different way of thinking and learning. They reframed our perspective with knowledge, compassion, and confidence.

What stands out just as much as their expertise is how my son feels about going. He is never forced to attend his lessons. He looks forward to them. That alone speaks volumes. Saybrook Reading meets each child exactly where they are. They adjust, adapt, and individualize in a way that makes kids feel capable instead of discouraged. Their success is evident because their approach is truly personal.

It is absolutely a team effort between home, school, and support services. But I can say with complete confidence that my son would not be where he is today without Saybrook Reading. They have changed not only his trajectory, but our entire outlook.

I could write pages about this team, and it still wouldn’t fully capture my gratitude. What they do for children and families is life changing. We are forever thankful."

"Builds confidence:

Our child was recently diagnosed with double deficit dyslexia, and came to Sarah as a non-reader. School was such an incredible source of anxiety, our daughter spent her time in the classroom hiding under her desk. At home, she threw worksheets across the room and would beg, scream and cry, pleading with us to not make her do schoolwork. Sarah quickly took what was an incredible source of frustration and anxiety, and turned it into a source of pride, confidence and joy for our daughter.

Taps into your child’s individual strengths:

Previously described by caregivers and educators as “head in the clouds,” Sarah incorporated our child’s creativity and imagination as a tool and an asset to learning, not a trait to be overcome. Sarah helped our child see her unique strengths and view herself as smart, capable and successful.

Passion is unmatched:

Beyond her extensive knowledge base of teaching techniques, Sarah’s heart and passion for kids with learning differences is evident in her approach and all she does. With her kindness, enthusiasm and love, the rapport Sarah established with our very shy daughter was instantaneous, and the relationship has only grown over time. Sarah is so engaging, our child asks to go see her daily, eagerly awaiting the next session…from a child who previously fell to tears at the mention of a sight word flash card.

Empowers kids (and parents, too!):

Sarah does so much more than teach, she changes the lives of the families she works with…and not just of the children, she has changed our lives as parents, as well. Our daughter is beginning to read, we were scared for what her future would look like if she would not be able to—Sarah took the weight of that worry away. The first time we saw our daughter tapping out words on a video Sarah recorded during their session, we cried tears of joy.

Not only was she teaching our daughter how to unlock her brain, she was empowering us as parents by providing session summaries, videos and take home activities to help us better understand how our daughter learns, so we can effectively practice skills at home.

In conclusion:

The impact Sarah makes goes far beyond the classroom and our family is incredibly grateful to have her in our life. Sarah Fudge is someone you want on your team. We will never be able to thank Sarah for all she does for our family"

"Ms Fudge has been instrumental in the reading success of our third grade student. By integrating the students interests and hobbies within the reading material, reading becomes more fluid and less arduous."

"Our son really enjoyed going to Saybrook reading this summer for camp. Each week they focused on trying unique foods such as pomegranate and coconuts. We got a weekly communication email including photos about what they accomplished. Our son really enjoyed going each week and loved Sarah and Bria!"
